So, .... is it okay for me to polish my somewhat grungy looking raw brass tuba? It already has a floating leadpipe (even more so after one of the posts broke off), so C3 is in tune with the Fs around it.

Wow. Just wow. I can hardly believe how many divergent directions this discussion has gone into! So many side issues that have nothing whatsoever to do with my original post, it’s taken on a life of its own!
