fun/low-brow orchestral music thread - post your favorites

Post by bloke »

This was LAST year's concert...This Saturday, it's coming up again (free to the public, and the other other free one is the Christmas matinee).

The blue in the background is a lit up antebellum mansion (which belongs to the adjacent church, which has a real carillon tower) - directly behind the stage.

This low-brow piece is called Pop's Hoedown, and I recall the Boston Pops doing it - years-and-years ago...and no, we're not playing this chart - this year.

If you listen to enough of it, you'll hear an exquisite tuba solo...I can't remember whether this was Fat Bastard or pre-Fat Bastard...(??)

You'll need a fb account...It's a "public" video.
