That guy always has interesting stuff for sale on the other side of the pond. It's funny how the Boosey design barely changed for almost 100 years. I'd be interested to know if that bell really is 12.5" though.

Re: Tiny Boosey Eb
Check out the bends in the main tuning slide to clear the bottom bow! Crazy. Cool but crazy.
Some old Yorks, Martins, and perhaps a King rotary valved CC

Re: Tiny Boosey Eb
Yes, that’s quite a commonly seen conversion. If the slide had a straight extension then there would be a foul between it and the bottom bow. All of the tuning slides should have spacers added on them too (to lower pitch) and it looks like that lengthening has been done.

Re: Tiny Boosey Eb
Were those tiny cheap (c. 1980s) student Boosey and Hawkes 3-valve E-flat tubas (towards the very end of Edgware Road production) built to approximately the same dimensions?
...The B Flats were barely larger. I just repaired two of them that were completely smashed up (horrible/nightmarish), and the band director picked them up about ten minutes ago. As a tribute to Jakob Winter cases, neither one of those (probably) 45-year-old cases have any cracks in the plastic, and only one latch could not be repaired.

Re: Tiny Boosey Eb
Very similar I’d say, mine is locked away at the moment - solely using my Sovereign instead. IIRC my small Eb has a 13” bell, out of which I can push a lot of sound, and is very light to handle.bloke wrote: ↑Wed Oct 11, 2023 10:36 am Were those tiny cheap (c. 1980s) student Boosey and Hawkes 3-valve E-flat tubas (towards the very end of Edgware Road production) built to approximately the same dimensions?

Someone might grab a picture from this listing on eBay.uk, mine’s the same model.
