Robert Russell Bennett's Broadway medleys

Post by bloke »

Can anyone name ALL of them (not a "test"...but curious/seeking information), and are ALL of them orchestrated for both orchestras and wind bands?

anticipating possible non-answers-to-the-question sidebar topics:

If this ends up turning into an opinion-expressing thread (ie. no one can answer the question, but many still chime in - per usual)

likely sidebar A:
I believe my favorite - of all of them that I've played - is the Carousel one, BUT THAT ONE WAS ARRANGED BY E. LEIDZEN...
though THIS one is ALSO out there (which I like BETTER THAN the Leidzen medley: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yp4Tgy6AIX0 ) :gaah:

likely sidebar B: ,
Are they better with strings...??
Well...They are certainly more reminiscent of what is heard from the orchestra pit - or from the TV set, when these shows/musicals are revived.

OK...I believe I just found the answer (via a search engine)...so go on ahead with your sidebar topics.

Love RRB. "My Fair Lady" gets my vote. My band is playing Victory at Sea this upcoming concert series, too.

He has a pretty nice arrangement of White Christmas, as well.
