as anyone ever used Charles Collins - Advanced Lip Flexibilities.for trombone but down an octave for tuba. In combination with william bell's daily routine? to help build ones range in multiple octaves.

Every so often, I pull out the (trumpet is all I've got) Schlossberg book...tedious, but beneficial.
The only other thing I do (but sucks, unless I've been practicing regularly on other types of things) is to do slurs over (never found in actual music) several octaves of pitches - working towards seamlessness (not easy).
I probably should mess with some of Olka's creative things...but (unless I did a ton of diverse ones of those regularly) they probably wouldn't do me much good...and no horns would end up getting fixed.
(The "regular" stuff that I practice defines flexibility work across "normal" partial distances.)

Schlossberg book. There's some memories. In 1954 I went for my regular lesson with a Hollywood studio musician, Hyrum Lammers, and arrived early. On dock was a young trumpet player from Los Angeles City College who was playing the heck out of some Schlossberg exercises. His name was Irving Bush, later to become principal trumpet in the Los Angeles Philharmonic. After hearing that beautiful and astonishing playing, I decided to end my aspirations of becoming a symphony orchestra trumpet player. TOO MUCH COMPETITION! Best decision I've ever made.
