I just bought one of these in silver. It's at Lee Stofer's shop now for a few minor tweaks. I'll have a bit more than 1K in it when done but looking forward to having a nice alternative instrument for my jazz playing. I think $995 is a great price.

I got one of these cheap relatively recently with a crazy warped bell (i bet Salvidore Dali would be an exageration, but a fun one) what still sounded great.

If tuning slides pull, maybe i will bring it to tuba christmas...
I wonder how Salvidore would decorate a tuba?

Speaking of Salvador Dali and Christmas, did you know that Hallmark hired him to make art for a Christmas cards in 1960? I think it was something like 10 pieces of artwork he created, and only two of them were actually printed. All the others were to far out there and Hallmark didn't want to use them. I don't think I've seen all of the rejected ones, but I remember this one and it is my favorite:
