Love to meet up with any of you heading that way. I'll be there for sure Friday and Saturday, but be in town on Thursday night

I expected to for most of the past year, but probably won't. My daughter needed a flugelhorn too soon to wait for it, and I unexpectedly sorted out my F tuba situation a few months ago. On the other hand, maybe just meeting up with people is reason enough. And checking some new tubas is fun, even if I don't need one.

This practicing trick actually seems to be working!

Waiting to hear back from the cat sitter. But a little confused about TMEA "membership" since I've never been a "music educator." Am retired but not a retired music educator, unless you count the lesson business in the 1970s. Not sure they will let me in?

Probably won't make it this year. Have had bronchitis since Christmas, plus undergoing physical therapy on my neck. I want to hear the Tarleton State Univ. Tuba-Euphonium ensemble, but will probably get to hear them before they leave for San Antonio.

If you're willing to pay the fee, you can get in. 35,000 people come to this: educators, industry, parents, plain ol' musicians. It's a real happening. I went to the Frankfurt MusikMesse years ago, in this is a much bigger deal.

Just choose the retired membership. It's cheaper, nobody questions your choices
