I've got some remarkably nice ones, and have rarely used them. I wouldn't loan them to very many people, but I would loan them to you. That having been said, I'm not willing to mail them to you, and also am not willing to have them mailed back to me.

If you are recording a performance, I really like the Applied Microphone Technology AMT LS with their wired preamp. If you are in a recording studio, I like a stereo pair of Neumann KM 184s mounted about ten feet up and ten feet away from the tuba. Some won't agree with me and would recommend a Neumann U87 instead. The Røde NT5 is a cheaper copy of the KM 184 that also sounds nice.

In addition -- what are you recording "to?"
I think basically everybody uses a computer now? Like with Audacity or something?

For me, I record right to a mixer with a USB record function, but without that, I have a gimbal camera with a good mic
