Heritage 3SL Arrived and I'm all about it.

Post by anadmai »

Maybe it's the smaller size, but in the short time I've had the 3SL, I can see a marked improvement in my micro length career as an Eb Bass player. I do hear some of the reasons why I was told I'd love the Laskey 28K, but my face needs smaller. With the 3SL, I feel more in control and not as sloppy. I'd be curious to hear this with a shallower cup and smaller diameter and a larger throat. The throat on this one seems a tad small. (How anyone can read this paragraph multiple times and not start to snicker is beyond me. )

Soooo
I have issues with air production. Always have. I'm severely underdeveloped. I can ace all the breather things, but putting the two together is struggle for me. With the 3SL, I feel I do need to produce more air, but the resistance is meeting me half way in the effort. There is a small part of me wondering what I'd sound like on the 4L but imma gonna commit to the 3SL and see where it leads me.

Oh and I picked up my English baritone right afterwards and the size difference surprised me. Good grief.

I don't have a DMA, I'm incapable of telling the truth
