Do I need a sousaphone bit for my King Recording Bass? Opinions Welcome!

The one I had played in tune with the tuning slide out 1 inch. No bit needed.

I have a King (and access to a friend's King) of similar vintage to yours, and I don't find that either needs a bit. If anything, they both play a bit low as-is (MTS almost all the way in for me, but I'm a "flat" player in general).

Not the “modern” two-piece 124x/234x horns.
The only recording bass I’m 100% sure needs a bit setup is the Martin.
