brassbanned.com will be presenting a competition on October 24, 2020.
"Brassbanned has teamed up with the Queensland Band Association to bring you a virtual event in 2020. We are excited to present bands from across Queensland (and special guests from Tasmania!) performing Hymn, Entertainment, Major Work and Stage March performances."---Handsome Tim
It will be at https://brassbanned.com/2020/10/21/qld- ... hips-2020/. The division schedule is on this page.
Queensland is 14 hours ahead of eastern USA DST, so adjust accordingly for your time zone. It begins at 11am Queensland time on Saturday, so that would be 9pm Friday evening EDT and will run overnight here.

It's on now. It'll run about 6-1/2 hours. It's a festival not a contest. Class C or D on now. Higher classes later tonight. Mostly brass bands but a few concert bands. Listings below the player on https://brassbanned.com/2020/10/21/qld- ... hips-2020/
These were all pre-recorded at their own facilities using their own equipment and submitted for later replay, later being now . . .

Re: Queensland 2020 virtual band championship
They may do broadcasts the next two weekends for people who are starved for bands, NZ next week (up in the air), and New South Wales the week after (more likely). These are canned performances done by each group at their home base. The lower grade groups can be uneven, but the top groups are usually very, very good. The big issue is still timing for those of us in the US. The time zones in question are 16 and 13 hours ahead of the Eastern US, so these tend to livestream overnight.

I don't know how long it'll be up, but for now: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kQQoRCX ... e=emb_logo. If there are licensing complaints about any of the music, it'll come down.
I had playback problems with Firefox and this stream (and the YouTube video). I suggest a different browser.
