That is slightly worrying. The bottom picture has another crack at the apex of the crook. Pretty wild!

I've seen something similar in King trombones that were fairly new. At bends or stress points created during the manufacturing process, the brass simply failed. I heard it was due to incomplete annealing.

Doesn't scare me, but I've never played one of those, don't know how low I'd have to price it (repaired), and don't know how many people would be looking to buy that model.
