Mouthpiece Pouchs

Post by bbuxx2026 »

I'm looking to purchase a mouthpiece pouch to safely transport my mouthpieces. I need to carry two tuba mouthpieces and one or two trombone mouthpieces. I'm considering the Protec Triple Tuba Mouthpiece Pouch or the Protec Tenor/Tuba Mouthpiece Pouch. Are these my best options, or is there a better alternative that would accommodate both tuba and trombone mouthpieces?

I have a Protec double, but turned around and bought a Protec Triple after I decided that I had 3 mouthpieces that I really wanted to take with me. Since I use stainless steel mouthpieces exclusively, I really don't have to worry about scratches. I also do not play trombone or baritone, so I can't be too much help with the last part of your question. I really like my Protec triple though. I also have a couple of Caravell pouches that hold 4 mouthpieces, but that's really a bit too much to be lugging around.

If you stick each one of them in one of those inexpensive rubber coin purse style individual mouthpiece pouches, you could just put them in an unpadded vinyl zipper thing that you could pick up at a thrift store.

I assume you're using them with four different instruments. Why not just keep them with their mated instruments?

If they were still around, I'd suggest a Cavallaro quad mouthpiece pouch. I don't know of anyone that makes a quad anymore and at least my preference would be not having both trombone mouthpieces in the same slot of a pouch.

In your shoes, I'd likely just get two double pouches.

This is probably an excellent suggestion, and worthy of checking up on. They are reportedly very easy to deal with, and friendly.

They make pouches for 2, 3, 4, and 5 tuba mouthpieces. I have 2 of the 4 mouthpiece pouches, they're good.
