(Saturday night)
- outdoor gig
- sixty piece orchestra shoehorned onto one of those fancy outdoor stages
- can barely make it past the basses to get to my chair, so I rarely use the ramp and typically climb up over the back corner
- several of the pieces will sound much better with cimbasso (including James Bond stuff), so I would like to have room for that as well
- as far as resonance is concerned, it's mic'ed and blasted out through huge elevated speaker stacks, so it's not going to sound like any tuba in particular
- 35% chance of hurricane-aftermath rain, so possibly slippery, if a light mist
- any mishap would be sad, but particularly sad would be one with FatBastard
...It's this annual (free admission) event.
The blue behind the stage is a limestone antebellum house with lights shining up on it.
