I like the contemplative expression set of by the obviously sinister eyebrows.

Re: My Tuba & I, Post Yours & You
I tried to share an image from my phone, and I don't have the app to do it. I'll come back and do it later.
(impressive/distinctive eyebrows on yet another handsome face)
... a long deceased cellist/music director who was a mentor of mine beginning around age 15 or so... probably pushed an audition committee to award me a scholarship to Interlochen, even though maybe I wasn't the strongest applicant (??)
As an adult - whereby I'm slipped into becoming more of a colleague, I would tell him some horribly filthy jokes at gig breaks, he would laugh hysterically, and then would drag me over and force me to tell them to his gorgeous wife. That cured me.

British Eb playing German brass music. (F tuba needs bumpers replaced and a good cleaning.)

Re: My Tuba & I, Post Yours & You
Mystic River Brass at the Lobster Trap Tree, Stonington, Connecticut, 12/17/2024.
I just got a new-to-me Besson Eb and decided to bring it, but realized it was going to be in the 20s and I didn't have a plastic mouthpiece that was small British shank. I "borrowed" this bright red one from my 2 year old, which I had got him to buzz around on, and sanded the shank down with a Dremel tool. Close enough for jazz, or at least Christmas tunes.
We had a propane outdoor heater set up at our playing spot behind the tree, but the tuba acted like a heat shield and it didn't actually warm me up that much. No matter, was still a ton of fun and we made a few hundred bucks in tips.

Inside the tree:

L-R: me (Eb tuba), Ken (cornet), Mike (BBb tuba), Rob (euph), Jason (flugel), Jacob (British baritone), Jan (horn). A very conical group.

Re: My Tuba & I, Post Yours & You
New to me Besson 995, the day I brought it home (last month).

Tomorrow I should be picking it up from getting cleaned, polished and some minor fixes.
