Had some family gatherings (two in person, one virtual). Little traveling, which is always a big bonus. Both sides of my family, as well as my wife's, are relatively close by. Furthest we have to go is 1.5 hours every other year.
Also playing some Sheepshead to relax, and working on some jazz ensemble music for my school kids. "Working" break.

AM,
That sounds like a great day!
“Dirty eggs“ just sounds like “eggs“ to me.

Mrs. TV made a babka bread pudding with the peices that crumbled and could not be made into French Toast.
Reruns of the turkey breast roulade.
Looking forward to New Years.
Same days off.
Just not as special.
We still listen to carols until epiphany.

I worked some sidejobs (police security). Wife and stepchildren opened a few gifts at her mother's house on Christmas eve and had a nice supper. My bride brought home a plate of leftovers for me. I don't know what my own two children did, since they don't call or come by. The highlight of the week was finding a few minutes to smoke my pipe.
woohoo

As I’m still locked by the covid scare, I listened to Cousin Brucie play 40s - 50s - 60s pop Christmas songs on 77WABC. Then I practiced Phil Teele’s Day 2 on bass trombone. That’s about two and a half hours of double valve and pedal long tones.

The week before Xmas, myself and four other brave souls played carols outdoors at a small retail/business area. 2 helicons, a Wagner tuba, a bass bone, and my euph. Great fun! Wednesday before Xmas, myself and SIX brave souls, 3 tubas, 1 bass bone, 2 euphs, and 1 baritone, played Christmas tunes at a large retirement center whose residents have been in lockdown since March. Again, outdoors with small groups of residents brought down for 15 minute intervals of carol listening. Played for just under 2 hours. Tremendous enjoyment for both residents and especially the players!!!
Christmas Day spent with 2 daughters, son-in-law, 3 grandkids, brother, sister-in-law, and 2 cousins whom I haven’t seen in decades. Great turkey dinner, homemade pecan, pumpkin, and apple pies.
BTW, the brass group unofficially called ourselves the ‘ContraBand Superspeaders’...........

*slightly jealous*
I wish we had that many players in the area just to be able to see if something like that was possible. In my local area, you would be hard-pressed to get a brass quintet together of adults, much less a tuba/euph group. (lack of adult musicians is one of the ONLY disadvantages of rural living)

In my neck of the woods, NV, I couldn’t find ONE player who was willing to play ‘live’. I played ‘the tunes’ with individuals whom I have been playing with for some 20+ years in SoCal when I visited my daughters/family at Christmas who reside down there.

yes.
Media - which scores of millions view as their gods - are nearly omnipotent, because perception = reality.

Two friends/families are coming (from distances) for after-Christmas visits.
I need to hurry and finish this French horn (to be sold) and get cleaned up before they get here...
