It definitely wasn't plug and play for me, either. Weirdest mouthpiece I've ever tried. Couldn't get the air/fuzz out of the sound.
I think they work really well for people who have a certain direction to their air stream. And really poorly for those who shoot even slightly "elsewhere". Not sure exactly where that is but that's my hunch.
