I'm 72 and have very little lung capacity. Nobody ever complained about my playing.....both community orchestras, the local brass band Eb section. Just use your air as you need to and don't worry about it. It's the sound that matters! Even little lungs can drive a brass band if they are on the beat.

A friend that is in community band with me just celebrated his 92nd birthday. You still have plenty of time to learn.

Air is free (so far) - use it.
