For anyone else who might take an interest in that Reynolds -- I would try to engage them in a little review of what's actually in the box. The picture clearly (?) does not pretend to be the actual instrument for sale, and there seems to be some confusion over model numbers. The specs and picture are for a TB-10. TB-11 is a larger tuba with a front facing bell, according to contemporacorner.com.

...and the actual 5/4 Olds/Reynolds instruments (unlike the Olds O-99 and Reynolds TB-10, once the model '99/'10 #1 and #3 slides are trimmed) offer somewhat "curious" intonation. The 5/4 models are fun, but fun (mostly/only) when not playing them with others.

Good information to know. I was considering that Reynolds but I was disturbed by the discrepancy of model numbers versus what was pictured, and that the pictures of ALL the econo overhauls were clearly not the instrument for sale. I wanted to see which and how many dents they left behind, which seems to be the hallmark of an “econo” overhaul. Maybe they aren’t that bad, but personally I can’t imagine stripping, polishing, and re-lacquering over dents, no matter how small. I imagine these are meant for the school market, where they would be “good enough”,

There was not a dent, dimple, pimple or blemish on mine. They also sent a bunch of new photos before purchase including the valves out of the casing and serial number. No surprises.

As a band director, I bought from Taylor for years and was never disappointed.
