A lot the tubas that are 120+ years old are unplayable. They offer terrible intonation, have weird features, or are broken disasters.

But this seems to be something that would work perfectly fine in a modern ensemble. as long as you get it to 440

By the looks of it, it was originally high pitch, but had longer legs/ferrules added to the main slide to take it down to low pitch. Modern pitch is likely somewhere in between. It should be relatively easy to shorten those longer ferrules on the main slide and be good to go.
