It hasn´t, really, so far.
Setting dynamics aside for a while and playing stuff in a healthy mp is going a long way for me.
That and making a good breathing plan.

On the other hand, I´m not playing overly challenging stuff most of the time.

Very little of what I'm paid to play is challenging, and there are certainly things that flautists and violinists can do that I'll never be able to do with a contrabass tuba, but challenging myself (playing mechanically challenging exercises, as well as complex "bel canto" exercises) is a way (to attempt?) to continue to boost my own capabilities beyond that which I am likely to encounter away from home.

Playing music for money isn't particularly profitable (as even $100 - $200/hr. involves often equal-to-hours-working driving time, gasoline, vehicle wear-and-tear, and - countless hours of "practicing"), but it's pleasureful, I enjoy the "hang" with my music buds, and is a way to have enjoyment without paying to have it.
