I was talking to one of my friends who is working for a company that's working with Ticketmaster on this. I'm sure this is going to prompt a lot of debate.

More justification for more outlandish fees. :)

I stopped at "Here's how it would work"..But I can guess what it said and also surmise that whatever they are asking that is linking with your smartphone that it will eventually even be a thing to enter your local grocery store. People will lap it up like a dog eating a steak I bet. :eyes:

All my worst gigs (for working conditions, pay, general treatment, etc.) have been gigs where tickets were available through Ticketmaster, Ticketron, or other independent, mass-market ticketing agencies.

Most of the places we went to last year are purchase at the box office or they have there own on line purchasing.

We got a free on like ticket reseller certificate and still haven't used it.

Just as one type of exception, those (TicketMaster-sold) video-game orchestra gigs are completely uninspiring (and no normal people playing those gigs "get" any of it), but they've all seemed to me to be pleasant enough...

Never heard of those. Video game music? Seriously? Well, I have never played home video games and only haunted arcades while they were "cool" (like 1978 through about 1985 or so).

Every one I've played has been sold out...It's the damndest thing...

They run a video (on a gigantic screen - above the orchestra) of portions of the game - as if someone is playing it, while the orchestra plays the tunes heard when playing those games...
If the games received several updates, typically all versions (along with all versions of the music) are shown in historical order.
You should play one, and hear all the sentimental "oohs" and "ahhs" coming from the kook-audiences...

No thanks. I'll stick with John Williams trying to beat me to death five times a year…
