EVEN MORE FREE STUFF…
ADDED A SOLO — Read in a post below…
Get it while you can. Free for now. Once it is published it will not be cheap. These are copyright-safe editions.
CLICKY!
I PLAY BOTH OF THESE ON MY F TUBA. YOU ARE FREE TO DO WHATEVER NONSENSE YOU LIKE. PLAY THEM ON AN RIGHT FOOT TALL BBBb WHILE RIDING A UNICYCLE. YOU BE YOU.
The Bordogni is not one I have come across in published tuba form, and I worked on the piano part until it pleased me regarding the typical crappy piano parts published with tuba transcriptions. This one works very decently.
The Gallay is the same guy as the Robert King book Gallay. This is out of one of his much more advanced books, and not much like the etudes found in the King edition, which is more of a collection of foundational material.
Both of these would be great F tuba material for a senior or grad recital. Let me know if you play them, and send me audio or video recordings of you. One of the few kicks I get in my sad, little life is hearing you guys play my stuff. AND IT'S FREE, YOU KNUCKLEHEADS! SNAG A COPY OF BOTH PIECES!

JUST ADDED TO THE FOLDER:
Craptacular AIFF files of the playback track of both tunes, to help you see how they go, in case reading is not your strong suit, heh, heh… (Sorry, I had to go there…)

You would quite the kick hearing me trying to play either. You would laugh so hard.. probably hyperventilate. I'd be worried about accidentally giving you a heart attack.the elephant wrote: ↑Sat Jan 25, 2025 11:11 pm

You got anything with less black on the page... maybe fewer of those flag notes?

Re: More FREE Stuff…
Can that be played by us BBb and Eb tuba players or is it more of an F/CC thing?

Re: More FREE Stuff…
BUMP…
I just added my edition of Beelzebub, which includes a lot of tinkering and improvement to the piano part and some needed "clarification" in the solo part.
I can't get a straight answer from the several agencies who work in the music copyright field, all of them hedging their answers to me regarding whether I am okay to do this (having based my work on an edition that was later listed as POP by the publisher, then later reissued). Supposedly, if I did this work during the lapse in copyright, which some say may have happened and some say may not have happened, I may or may not be covered. Allegedly.
I am going for forgiveness over permission in this case, as I cannot get a firm answer.
All I have done is clean up their mess for them after years of requesting a better edition. I was told the copyright lapsed some years ago, and that any changes I had incorporated into the piece during that time were okay if they were based on the out-of-print edition.
I do not understand how that would be determined, but whatever.
Grab a copy now. I may have to pull this one.

Re: EVEN MORE FREE STUFF…
As usual, the MIDI "Human Playback" is somewhat less than human.
Mr. Data would have played it much better…

Re: EVEN MORE FREE STUFF…
I recorded the Debussy piece one time in a band room. I didn't add any reverb, but the band room was a little bit too reverb-y. If I link that recording here, would y'all deem it as little bit too me-too-ish, or would it be cool?
