I was playing at a festive over the weekend using a new mouthpiece plated in silver. My main mouthpiece is gold but i got a Roger Bobo Solo for christmas and im loving it, but after the 2 days my lips were buring and felt rough. I had my teacher reach out to get it plated in gold which i am waiting for the price. Im also considering a stainless steel mp thats similar. Does anyone know about stainless steel mouthpieces with a mid shallow to shallow cup, 7.5 - 8mm throat and a rim around 32 - 32.2 like the bobo. I saw a sellmansberger 32-3 #1 rim, Solo Cup and Solo backbore but not sure how close this is to the Bobo, Thanks

Many of us have cheaply solved that problem by putting nail polish on the rim.

I’d say look at the Sellmansberger Solo Cup or maybe a Denis Wick model. If you’re after that shallow cup and specific measurements, these might be close enough. Also, a lot of people just use nail polish on the rim to stop the irritation.

If you like the Bobo solo rim, I've got sort of blobby rims (similar to those with narrow openings - as you describe).
