Teach me this iPad thing

Played a gig today with a tuba quartet in a German restaurant, one I have played with many of times. We have a set list and an on call list, all of which I’ve printed. We have another 300 tunes on a Dropbox account.

We had some requests for pieces not on any of the lists that we do have electronically. My wife, who uses her iPad as a teach tool, recently upgraded her 5 year old one so I took hers. My 10 year old one won’t even play YouTube (I mainly used it to listen to music on YouTube while doing dishes or to do audio playbacks when playing and the super old one won’t even connect to YouTube because the app is updated).

The files I need are stored on Dropbox as PDF. I don’t have cell service on this iPad mini, I don’t want to use hotspot as it’s not reliable.

Can someone tell me what to download and the best way to do this for when we get a request I don’t have. Needs to be free.

You want to get ForScore and use that to organize and display charts.

https://forscore.co/

Then a $20 cheap foot pedal from Amazon.

When you are around doing a lesson with the kids, I can show you my setup.

You should be able to download them and read them out of the files app, but I agree ForScore is so nice to have. It’s like $15 but it’s worth it ten fold.

I use my iPad Pro for everything. I don’t go the foot pedal route, I got a Flic Bluetooth button, and a “FlicGrip” that it sticks to, so it mounts to my slide tube. Click the button, page turns, and since it’s on the horn, nothing extra to carry.
