For Sale: Josef Lidl LFB 753-6R F Tuba (Gold Brass, 4+2 Valves)
Asking: $5,250OBO
Location: San Francisco, CA
Up for sale is my Josef Lidl LFB 753-6R F Tuba in gold brass. It’s a 4/4-sized instrument with 6 valves (4+2 configuration). The tuba is about two years old, and I'm the second owner.
This is a compact, lightweight horn with a surprisingly strong low register. A Helleberg-style mouthpiece worked really well for me. While the 6-valve setup does offer plenty of alternative fingerings, I rarely found them necessary — the intonation is solid enough that most of the time, I could just play and not worry about adjusting slides or using alternative fingerings.
Specifications (from the Lidl website):
Key: F
Size: 4/4
Valves: 6 (original miniball linkages)
Material: Gold brass
Bore: Dual bore – 18.2 mm (.717”) / 19.2 mm (.756")
Bell diameter: 400 mm (15.7")
Height: 820 mm (32.2")
Weight: 7,400 g (16.3 lbs)
The horn is in good condition overall. All valves and slides move smoothly. There are a few small dings on the bell, which I’ve done my best to show in the photos.
It comes with the original gig bag, which is lightweight and makes it super comfortable for travel.

I’m asking $5,500 or best offer. Ideally looking to sell, but I’m open to potential trades as well.
Feel free to reach out with questions or offers.
Cheers,
Tom
