was lucky to play a Valentine's Day gig...and with snowpocalypse approaching, to boot...

jazz quartet gig at an urban-based private club (which - over the years - has morphed into more of a tennis/exercise place vs. formerly a muckety-mucks social gathering place).
Yes, we did play My Funny Valentine, and yes: Someone did request it right after we played it. :laugh:
No...We did not have any books with lead sheets...We just played.

This picture represents an approximate collective total of c. 310 years walking on this earth, and probably c. 260 collective years of playing jazz. I believe I first met the gentleman on the left in 1976, the next one in 1979, and the third one around 1983. The third one (next to me) is 87, and played an hour of tennis, just before the gig. The four of us - over the years - have bid farewell to many other good jazz friends.
