I have a beautiful King HN White 4 valve EEb sousaphone for sale. It's in great condition, satin silver finish is approximately 95%, no major dents. The valves are fast and smooth. They do have some plating wear, However they aren't loose, and they do have compression. I think that it plays well enough as is. My wife loves the sound, she said that it actually sounds like a tuba. A very resonate sound. Intonation is a tad on the low side if using a larger mouthpiece. Perfect using any smaller bowl/funnel cup. I did reach out to Joe, at Mid South music about the possibility of of replating, or re purposing new valves. However, like I said before, I think that it plays well enough as is. It comes with neck and 1 bit. *****No case, or mouthpiece
Price: $1200 plus shipping. I am willing to drive up to 150 miles, to avoid shipping, however, I can ship it. No Greyhound.
Why am I selling? Well, I bought this EEb Sousaphone a couple of weeks ago. I have been working through all of my traditional jazz charts, and it's just too steep a learning curve for me. I would rather stick with BBb.
Thank you very much for your consideration.
I will post a link to pictures and a short video demo soon.

Do you have pictures, specifically of the valves?

I will take some pictures and put them in the folder. The best I can describe how they look, is that they have the worn, brown spots, like you see on valves that are losing/have lost their plating. So, at some point, they will need to be replaced, or replated/rebuilt. However, they still work/play "ok"

I added videos of all the valves. Hopefully you can get an idea of the condition of each valve. Please let me know if you have any more questions.

Still not I'm afraid. Perhaps it's an issue with the sharing settings? And maybe I'm the only one. I'm not in the market, but we all like to look at other people's stuff right?

It should work. I checked the settings. You should be able to click the top right corner of the "no preview available" link (box with an arrow).
Im not sure what else to do, lol.
I also like to look at other people's Tubas/sousaphones for sale. Especially those fancy silver 6/4 York style Tubas... really, any BAT, lol
. I love those big Tubas.

It will work if you use a URL tag -
https://drive.google.com/folderview?id= ... YDWnlXBSeW
That means, like this -
Code: Select all
[URL]https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=1e9Sbe2B7XMkMMeKCbKkg_0YDWnlXBSeW[/URL]
... or use the 10th button above the text entry window, that looks somewhat like 3 chain links.
This informs the bulletin board rendering software that the indicated text is actually a link. Usually the advantage is just that you don't get the ridiculous noise that accretes on the link as it gets requoted (don't recall noticing whether that's actually a problem in this forum, but it was in that other place.) I've never seen this one before, but I bet we see it again. Another benefit is that you can choose to use a page title for the displayed text, rather than the link text - like
A picture and several videos of that lovely sousaphone
The cause of this seems to be a "feature" - this software recognizes googledrive links, and tries to set you up with wondrous preview image, but googledrive isn't going along, so you get nothing. This really looks like a can of worms to me, possibly a feature to consider disabling.

It's really how most of us do it. Only a problem here because of this "feature." I'll see if I can find someone in a position of responsibility in case they're interested.

Hi Dan, I'm Way interested in this horn. Dumb Question, does a normal 2341 detachable bell fit on it>? The male part is about 6 1/4 across. Let me know and we may have a deal. Thanks, Ed
