LONG SHOT inquiry: hard case swap within easy 1-day commute

Post by bloke »

MIGHT (??) there be anyone with a couple hundred miles of me (western Tennessee) who has a case that will fit an 18-inch bell 186 BBb...who would PREFER a SMALLER case (that is designed to fit something like/no-larger-than an Olds O-99, Reynolds TB-10, Conn 5J/2J/3J/4J, etc...?? ...and this would also be a great hard case for a front-action piston F tuba.

...so I have a wood case (with the two really large/stable-rolling wheels) that fits up to those 7/8th-size front-action models (listed in bold, above) but which is too small for a Miraphone 186 and I'm in NEED of a 186 case. :tuba:

If you have a 186-fitting case (and WISH you had a SMALLER front-action case), I'd love to swap with you, if you're not too far away.

The case that I need should accommodate a front-action tuba with an 18-inch bell that is 40 inches tall.

I'd deliver this shorter case (designed for a 16" bell front-action tuba or smaller) in clean/good condition, and drive halfway to some not-to-far-away place to swap. Obviously, both of us shipping our cases to each other would cost each of us well over $100 (plus nearly as many hours of "messing around") as shipping, so "meeting up" to swap in-person seems the most logical.

Below is a suggested max distance away from me where you might possibly be located.
Black represents where you (with a 186 case to trade) might be, and red represents where we might meet up...but I'd probably be willing to stretch the red ring out, a little bit...
