Sad news....fyi...mark

Hello everyone. Dr. Earl Louder's, University Distinguished Professor Emeritus, Morehead State University, daughter, Leslie Leslie Louder O'Neal asked me to share her post about her dad. PLEASE, READ THIS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE (below). She would like everyone who knows Dr. Louder to know about his final stage health status. Here is her message to me.

ā€œI haven't posted anything on Facebook yet about this, but feel free to share (on or off Facebook) with any and everybody you know who knows Daddy. We will be bringing Daddy home in the next 24 hrs for the last time on hospice. His remaining time on this earth will be measured in days. šŸ˜„ I'll probably do a post later today letting others know. The problem is... somehow his Facebook got hacked and they have closed his account which means ALL of his friends list is gone to me except a handful who are also my friends!!!!! This is a tragedy!!!! I need for people to know and also as a prayer request. If you can think of ANY solution to the FB friends problem please let me know. I'm desperate!! Soooo many contacts lost!!! šŸ˜”"
PLEASE SHARE THIS POST WITH EVERYONE. Also, share this post with Morehead State University officials and websites.

Please join me in prayers for our friend, and Professor, Dr. Earl Louder.

A incredible mentor to many. Saddens me greatly.

Sincerely,
Martin Becker

UPDATE:

R.I.P. Earle

It is with much sadness that we share the news that Dr. Earle L. Louder passed away today. The All Ohio State Fair Band and Alumni Association offer our sincere condolences to his wife Louise, and their entire family.

The 15 year member of the staff served as the Band's Assistant Director and Low Brass Specialist. He was beloved by members, alums and, of course, his colleagues on the staff. He was an incredible teacher and director, wonderful euphonium player, kind soul, someone who made a positive impact on everyone who crossed his path....and, we loved when he was our concert announcer. We are better for having had Dr. Louder in our lives!

Dr. Louder received his undergraduate degree from Michigan State University and his Doctorate Degree from Florida State University. For twelve seasons he was the featured euphonium soloist, principal euphonium, and Head of the Brass Department of the US Navy Band in Washington, D.C. Dr. Louder was Resident Artist, Professor of Euphonium, Trombone and Tuba, and Associate Director of Bands at Morehead State University in Kentucky for 28 years. In retirement, he performed with numerous ensembles including Keith Brion's New Sousa Band and for 26 years performed with The Cleveland Orchestra Blossom Festival Band as featured soloist and principal euphonium. Between 1992 and 2003, Dr. Louder conducted the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp concert band and choral ensembles on six Blue Lake Exchange Program European Concert Tours.

Thank you Dr. Louder for being part of AOSFB and positively touching the lives of thousands of Ohio's young musicians.

I had the privilege of learning under him for three years when I played with the All-Ohio State Fair Band. What a wonderful man and teacher. I'm so sorry to hear this....

Dr. Louder was very kind in alerting my teachers, Dr Wes Hanson, and Norm Hanson about the availability of the horn I play today. My recollection is that we went of to Michigan get the horn. 30+ years later, and not until Iā€™m dead, will you pry it from my cold, dead hands. Iā€™m never giving it up.

He was a very kind man. I had the honor of meeting him and listening in on a conversation between him and Rex Conner. That was about 1973.
