I have a Weril copy of a YBB-105, but the #2 piston (which someone obviously bought and installed) is the WRONG #2 piston...correct diameter, but for the FRONT-action 3/4...and this one is the TOP-action...
I also now have a new new John Packer JP-078 HARD CASE (for their own - exquisite/better-than-Y copy of the YBB-105)...
Weril's now defunct, so I'm either going to paste a 1960's 3-valve top-action Holton .665" bore valveset on the body, or I'm gong to past a Bauerfeind/Blessing (copy of King 1240) c. 1990's 3-valve top-action valveset on it.
The only motive, here is to have a 3/4 BB-flat to sell to some middle school (whichever one asks next).

Do your local districts appreciate how avant-garde they are being with their Frankentuba selections??

I'll have to move things around, but the tuba was cheap, one of the two POSSIBLE transplant valvesets was cheap, the other POSSIBLE transplant valveset was free, and the (new) JP hard case - which fits their same-profile JP-078 tuba (a nice case, which will help sell the tuba) was reasonably-priced.

I don't supposed some other manufacturer's YBB-105 copy (or even an actual YBB-105) piston could be made to work?
Would just seem like possibly less work.

LOL...The 105 wasn't copied that closely - not by any of the factories that have copied it.
