Sunday morning / post breakfast / stream-of-consciousness post:

Those introductory-deal online gambling commercials completely remind me of this proposition offered in “l’Histoire du Soldat”:

The string bass part is not particularly difficult, but it would be interesting to see a tuba player cover it, as the work lasts about an hour, and playing is nearly constant... ‘ could be nearly the equivalent of an opening set with a jazz combo, polka band, or old-old-school “hotel” band... Concert band concerts last longer, but typically feature a good bit of microphone yatter between pieces, as well as intermissions after about forty minutes.
