Why would you delete that? It gave the right information.

I just checked, and I can't find a way to give everyone the ability to delete their own posts unless we make everyone a moderator, and I think you know that's a terrible idea.

I'll be real surprised if there isn't an "Advanced Permissions" option for users to delete their own posts.

With the constraint that there can be no replies to that post. Once someone replies to it, the little [x] graphic button goes away and the post is forever.

That switch is kinda buried. It's a group forum permission, so assigned to a group (like registered users) for a forum, and it has to be assigned per forum (I don't know of a way to mass assign it for all forums, you have to go through the list and do it one by one). Notice you can allow users to delete the post from being shown, but it's still there (soft delete), and/or allow full hard delete.
