Removing the tarnish from OLD silver instruments

I previously posted pics of an old silver sousaphone that was given to me. I've started to remove some of the tarnish... a little bit at a time, as my hands haven't completely healed from surgery. Got a few more weeks to go before I can really use them to apply some pressure without severe pain. Anyway, I've tried Wright's Silver polish, Tarn-X, and buffing rouge & a small buffing wheel. I've got some Flitz on order. It won't arrive til next week.
Haggerty's has also been suggested to me.
Any other suggestions as to what will remove the tarnish and crud easily..... in larger amounts. I'm also considering getting a larger bench buffing wheel in preparation for the entire job. I figure that whatever I get done, my repairman won't have to. He can take what I've done and improve it.
