Using youtubA as a tool is tricky.

- I'm a cheap s.o.b., and don't like to pay for stuff, where there is free stuff.
- When I need to learn new pieces ("How often do tuba players play Schubert's 9th Symphony?", as an example), I like to play along with recorded performances.
- Most of the free recordings on youtubA are European, and the tuning is high as a kite.
- Most of the American recordings on youtubA are amateur, and the tuning is everywhere.
- Fifty minutes of either becomes somewhat tedious.
btw...I believe Schubert HATED the tuba and LOVED the cimbasso, because he admired Verdi, and copycatted Verdi about just about everything. (Never mind that Verdi was a kid - 800 miles away from Schubert - when Schubert died, but that shouldn't have anything to do with The Science.)
