TubaChristmas music?

I want to participate in my local TubaChristmas but they have been very slow to publish details. Now the latest is that it will be on Dec.11th at noon. That’s the PERFOMANCE. There will be NO REHEARSAL. Everyone is expected to have the music prepared beforehand. Registration at 11:15, concert at 12 noon. Problem is, I don’t have the music. I was just going to buy it at the event like they have offered in the past then learn the music at the rehearsal. That is no longer a possibility. According to the TubaChristmas official website the music can only be ordered by mail. There is no download provision. I fear there is not enough time now for me to get the music mailed to be and to practice sufficiently. Is there any other legal way to get the music?

Legal? No (but we all know links are out there for download)

I agree it's a uncomfortable situation for someone that has never done it before. That is one situation that I would not be sending young students to this year. For most people, the music is sight readable, and usually the ensemble is large enough that the occasional missed note isn't noticeable.

Remember, you're surrounded by dozens of people playing the exact same part as you. You're not going to get lost.

SIDEBAR:
the actual music

I understand that it’s likely that most of their copyrights and probably even performance rights have been renewed, but some of the good old movie/musical Christmas songs and ballads - as well as some that were not even particularly composed for movies – would be fun to play at a tuba Christmas event, rather than just the carols (though they’ve wonderful) that are in the Wilder book.
Properly harmonized, several of them would have quite a few more accidentals than the carols, but I don’t believe many of them would be - technically - more challenging.
