I know, I'm being THAT guy...but what helicon did Rich make sing/slap/run/drive and numerous other descriptors. Just for my own edification. What was his setup? Thanks in advance!

I’m sorry that I’m posting without complete information, but I do seem to recall that it was NOT some common American make.
Here, though, is a quite rare picture of it:

Thanks for the info. He had such a unique tone quality and delivery. Truly unlike anyone else.

Based on his results, I should probably give it a shot.

There's a helicon here in town that has similar slide routing and it's a Diston. Actually, there are several players in town who were close to Rich at that college in Denton. I'll ask around next time I go to Orlando. So it'll be awhile. Rich was seated at 11:00 from my spot in the Candlelight orchesttra in the VIP section. Back when the show was just two nights and performed in front of the train station in Majic Kingdom. For about three years at the end of the show he walked through the orchestra smiling with his hand extended and said the same thing every year, " Young man, I REALLY like your tuba playing" And he was a REALLY kind man. yes...extremely kind...

Someone (years ago, when I displayed this picture elsewhere) guessed Keefer, and Diston sounds like a very reasonable possibility as well.
