...so (just curious) if you're playing in per-service, full-time, or in-between full-time/per-service orchestras, how many of you have encountered cancellation of foreign soloists/artists/headliners (due to their inability to either leave their country or to get into this one), with your orchestra then scrambling to replace them with domestic soloists/artists/headliners for those scheduled pops or masterworks programs?
me...??
As long as the gig isn't cancelled, I'm fine with it, and - most often - the replacement "stars" are at least as competent as those they replace.
(There's a Valentine's show - with which I'm involved - whereby the foreign headliners had to - suddenly be replaced...so - thus - the curiosity if this has happened with other orchestras.)
I'm glad, though that one pops concert outfit - in particular - is (probably) not going to be replaced. I'm scheduled to play an AFTER-Beatles fab-four tunes show (1970-and-later), later this year, and am glad - with that particular show - that the cover band is domestic, because that show has finally been rescheduled from the "two weeks to flatten the curve" , and - ("I just had to look...having read the book") - I recall that the tunes all look like a bunch of (probably: cimbasso) fun.
yeah...I guess this was another goofy "stream-of-conscientiousness" post...' sorry...
