I've been using an app called Twisted Wave for a few years now. It's similar to audacity, allows you to do all the traditional editing/normalizing and then you can export the files as WAV, mp3, AAC to dropbox, email, text message.
It's great for recording piano rehearsals on my iPhone and then sending the recording to my students. Paired with a decent condenser mic and it's a legit field recorder.
