repairing spider cracks in bells prior to selling a tuba

Post by bloke »

sure: Iron the cracked spots down nice and flat, carefully braze them together with very low/controlled heat, and then hit the entire bell (down to the ferrule - with truck bed liner, and (tacking another $1500 on to the selling price) claim that the tuba features a carbon-fiber bell.

:smilie2:

That's so cool that I dug out a rattle can of Rustoleum Truck Bed Coating and really laid it down on the Mirafone's bell.

Five stars; would recommend.

For a YCB-826S or Thein, I would probably recommend having it professionally applied.
