Needs some help, but likely worth it in the end.

Wasn't me. Never even heard of that site.

New to me also. "Used Equipment for Sale." From looking at their list of equipment types, it doesn't sound like tubas are their normal stock in trade, as opposed to this:

GovPlanet seems to be the related site for government auctions. One benefit of GovPlanet over GovDeals (another government auction site) is that GovPlanet partners with a shipping company. WIth GovDeals I think you're expected to show up to haul away your winnings yourself.

Example: This bench grinder comes palletized for shipping. That's a great help. There is a general 15% transaction fee (drops to 10% for items >$10K), but TANSTAAFL.

:smilie8: That's the version of 4/4 Hb that COULD POSSIBLY be played in tune WERE IT THAT the extra loop-the-loop slide faced upward.

This pic gives me pause. Not sure those valves aren't cattywampus.

A customer of mine won it and it's headed our way for servicing. Yes, there are a few apparent issues but nothing that can't get sorted out. Looking forward to seeing and playing it soon.

valves:
Sight unseen, BOTH "the valves are nice and free" AND "the valves are stuck" are worrisome,
YET, I would choose "the valves are stuck" OVER "the valves are nice and free".
