' should be ready for them to proceed, now.

This wasn't the worst beat-up ever, but was somewhat "sad"...

now: "happy"-looking

The bottom bow repair was another "leave the cap in place" job.

The oem wire on the large upper bow was caved in, but I got everything back where it belongs - and round - without removing that wire.

As can be seen, I did not un-solder the "bugle".

I also found a matching-gauge (small width) guard wire (formerly-missing) for their bottom bow. The instrument's owner will install it.

again: Dent removal is as far as I'll go, as far as helping others along with their projects.

(I've got my own projects, which have sat waiting for many years." 😐)

tip:

When running bottom bow caps through the dent machine, hold it with thick gloves, set a tall stand next to yourself (which might safely support a propane torch), heat the seam on the edge with a portable propane torch, and run the hot edge through the dent machine, which will allow the molten solder to be squeezed out of the solder joint during ironing, rather than printing an ugly solder mark on the outer layerof brass.

Touching up the solder joints later will obviously be required, but compare that to taking the whole cap off and putting the whole cap back on.
