A terrific video which provides so much background to the British Brass Band movement! Thank you for posting this. Here in Saskatoon, we have two very good brass bands and the conductor of one played in both the Grimethorpe Colliery Band AND Besses O' the Barn. A wealth of riches one might say!!

It's too bad that is sometimes sounds like an Edison cylinder with a slipping drive belt, but that was well worth watching anyway. We're playing an Edward Gregson piece next weekend, so it was fun to see him featured as up-and-coming.
A little jarring to see no women in the bands. Anybody know if that's changed in the past 35 years?
