are folks actually getting this kind of money for these still? I have one I haven't played in years and a kid headed to college in 11 years.. maybe I should hold on to it...

I have an LM-15 that I think is an excellent Eb / F tube piece, is stainless, and I would probably ask $200 or more for it.
An LM-6 though is a Schilke Helleberg II with a big throat:
"Model LM-6 is the same cup design as the LM-7, but as a VERY open throat. This is for the player who really has their breathing "together". It's time to step up to a bigger throat and start "moving some air". The cup size is VERY controllable. For pros who are used to a "bathtub", this is a smaller cup diameter than most big orchestra mpcs, but still moves lots of air and gets a huge sound! Perfect for Berlioz - Bass Tuba parts."
BBb or CC Tuba
CUP CHARACTERISTICS: Deep Cup, unique throat design extends well into shank.
RIM CHARACTERISTICS: Width 7.48mm. Inner diameter - 32.6mm rim standard.
Optional screw rims 32mm, 33.2mm.
THROAT BORE: 8.6mm.
My GUESS is that Houser's Mk7 (same as LM-7 without the heavy shell) with a very open shank can replicate this and be in new condition for the same or less money.
