That's in REALLY nice shape. Looks great -- seems a little high to me, but maybe I'm wrong. If it were less, I'd consider picking it up for bort Jr.

Then offer him $1500 cash.
It is certainly worth that.
I think it's worth at least two grand if it plays well, as it is likely in great shape. The plating on those pistons was generally very good, so it is likely still in good shape.
Remember that there is no such thing as an FE Olds instrument that is less than 43 years old, so it does need to be examined. If everything is physically good and it plays well, two grand is a good price.
I would definitely buy it if I wanted a smallish 4/4 front piston BBb tuba with four valves and an accessible 1st slide, even with the drive I would have to make — especially at the requested $1650, which is low in my opinion.

Price is quite fair based on sales I've seen. These things are less common than they used to be 20-25 years ago.

I didn't mean to suggest the price was wrong, but that it was more than I would want to pay for this.

I'd want to see pictures of the pistons, but since local only, the buyer can look at them in 3D.
The pistons that Allied Supply sells are well over $100 ea., and about .002" too large.
