Beelzebub performed by yours truly when I was but a yonker. Some folks don’t care for theme and variations tunes, and some don’t specifically like Beelzebub, but… It’s one of my sentimental favorites, and I’d love to do it again sometime, albeit with a more musical and (hopefully) entertaining interpretation.

Thanks! I figure it’s ok for a kid, but I’d love to have another crack at it today.

' really enjoyed that, Bill.
I can't ever find ANYTHING, but I though I had some (now, surely in bad shape) xeroxes of score and parts.
I may have played that a year or two after quitting a college teaching job - with a Memphis community band.
probably, "Would you play this concert [actually: because our tuba players are both going to miss] and let us feature you on this solo?"
My friend (who I've mentioned many-many times, stood up on the very apron of the stage and played that thing - blazing fast - triple-tounging, etc.) on his 36K.
That really impressed me, as it was the first tuba solo I'd ever really heard...and rendered by an 18-year-old professional-level player, to boot.
Here's a picture of him from several years ago.
Yep...She was in the band, too.
As can still be seen, she was a beauty.
He was already balding when he was 17. https://i.imgur.com/OO1rqx2.jpg
Certain pieces of music (regardless of how "profound" they may or may not be), trigger memories.
' something else that now seems odd to my 65-year-old brain:
When I looked at that music (as a 16-year-old - over his shoulder) I thought, "man...I don't know if I could ever play something like that"...
YET - regularly - in small venues or in rich people's dens/living rooms/great rooms - I played stuff like that on the guitar regularly.
It's as if my brain featured some partition in it, between those two instruments.
I'm glad you had that opportunity !
