Yeah, need stuff to go with the new horn. It’s huge. Around 4’ , 19.75” bell. Came with a battered protec with bell section and pockets coming apart, I wouldn’t abuse it like the preview owners did. I’m looking around and I think another protec might be the only readily available non custom made option. Any other ideas? I have leather Cronkhites for my other 2 tubas(pt6 bag I’m using for my Eastman won’t come close to fitting). I’m assuming a leather Cronkhite would be 1350 and a cordura 800. Rather not go that high.

It’s not difficult to find someone who has a nearly new condition large Protec - which they are willing to sell, because people buy them and don’t like them – and thus don’t use them.
Were there a way to shorten the handles (as those bags tend to drag on the pavement) or to lower where the straps are mounted (as they also tend to flop against the backs of the knees of the carrier), those bags would probably work out just fine.
Part of the allure of the model 90 - that I owned until a few months ago - was that it came with one of those 1970s close-fitted exquisitely-shaped Australian-made wood cases. The case (amazing compound curves in the shapes of the wood) wasn’t much larger than the instrument, and was in good shape

Gorz bags aren't all that expensive, to be honest. Send Bob Tucci an email, and see what can be done while the Euro is low. Only downside -- August is typically a time of low output/productivity in Europe.
You could email Miraphone see what they recommend...? They ARE in the gig bag business

I doubt if Miraphone has a blue bag to offer that is 4 feet long.

Messina can make them. Prices are reasonable. I called him, and he's made covers for CBB-601s, so a 190 should be doable.

I don't think they do either. But I'm curious if they might have an idea. Or a NOS old-style black bag sitting around from back in the day.

I have no experience with Wessex bags, but they say they make one for their Kaiser model.

That makes a lot of sense !
I’m thinking the Miraphone might be a couple of inches taller than their instrument…

I've played the Wessex kaiser - it is one big mofo. Measurements would tell the story.

specs state c. 44-7/8" tall for the Chinese one...Miraphone is only about 3/4" taller, so I'm guessing it could be coaxed into the Chinese bag.
