Okay, BBb players: everyone is different, but for me, personally, the 185-5U CC was the best quintet tuba I have ever played, bar none. I have never played the BBb version, but this seems like a pretty good amount of tuba for that price. I am not a fan of the 184 at all, but I like the 185 quite a bit. I have heard that since this model has traditionally sold much more slowly than either the 186 or 184 that the 185 is not quite as "dialed in" and is a bit more inconsistent.

Try before you buy, but have cash, because if it is a good one you'll want to take it with you.
