Not mine, but I'd seriously consider if I were in the market. Decent price for the horn.

Oh, I'm really going to have to start a FB account just to email people about tubas, aren't I...!arpthark wrote: ↑Wed Sep 07, 2022 11:22 am Not mine, but I'd seriously consider if I were in the market. Decent price for the horn.

I deleted my FB account in 2017 but did recently create a dummy profile for Marketplace.
I use a variation on my first name and middle name (both of which are fairly common) and a real photo of me to prove I'm not a robot, but otherwise provide no personally identifiable information on there.
It's come in handy -- I've acquired a few tubas and many mouthpieces using the platform, including a few stellar deals.

I've thought about the fake name idea, too... but for as little interest as I have in FB to begin with, I have even less interest in dealing with FB problems if they hassle me about the fake name. I don't want to create an account just for tuba stuff, then have friends/family find me there, and think that it's something that I actually want to do or would participate in. Ain't happening. :)arpthark wrote: ↑Wed Sep 07, 2022 1:09 pm I deleted my FB account in 2017 but did recently create a dummy profile for Marketplace.

Re: FB: Meinl-Weston 2155 $7,500 - Southbridge, MA
I have no criticism of the price at all.
One observation about the offer is this:
As really good instruments age - and their finishes age - their prices remain the same (or even increase) due to inflation - as their curb appeal diminishes.
A general observation (NOTHING to do with this particular offering) might be this:
Many people buy pictures, and the merchandise (shipped after they buy the pictures) sometimes might seem to be anticlimactic.
on the record:
I like this model very much, but might affect a couple of minor alterations, were I to find myself owning/using one.

Looks like a “small valve” valveset?
Putting this marked up as code to keep all of the URL.
Looks like a solid buy for that horn. I’d be tempted to add a little brother…
