I'm not familiar with this European brand. Are they still in business or is it a legacy brand? Are their newer horns Chinese stencils? Quality comments?

It's Marigaux.
A few decades ago, King Musical Instruments imported the oboes, English horns, and oboes d'amore... also the clarinets and saxes.

I vaguely recall that SML label saxophones are esteemed rather highly, or were a couple decades ago anyway.

One of the early model Jinbao travel F tubas -with that brand engraved on it - appeared for me on Reverb, as I've been keeping an eye out for a used china travel f/tornister. I would venture a guess that all their brasses are imports
